Admission Policy

Infant Jesus Academy is a non-selective school and offers equal opportunities to ALL children, regardless of origin and religion, who demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity and a passion for learning.


Such children must meet up with the admission criteria. The Academy also seeks out children that are well disciplined, respectful and possess the ability to fit into a boarding environment. The admission criteria include the following but not limited to:
For admission into JSS 1, the child

  • Must be at least 10 years old by September of the year of admission.
  • Must, through his/her parents complete either the online or hardcopy admission forms
  • Must seat the entrance examination and undergo the brief oral interview process

Students seeking admission into years 8, 9 or 10 must also complete the admission forms and seat the placement tests. In both aspects of admission (into Year 7 or 8, 9 or 10) the child must present

  • two passport photographs
  • photocopy and original copy of academic result from the immediate past class
  • birth certificate (NOT affidavit)

For candidates residing abroad, arrangements can be made for entrance tests to be administered by the candidate’s current school. The parents of the child need to inform their child’s school of this. If such a school agrees to administer the exams we will email the entrance tests to them and they in turn send back to us the completed test scripts.

Admission Procedure

For entry into Infant Jesus Academy; prospective students are expected to satisfy the school’s entry criteria in line with the school’s admission policy. Admission is strictly by merit without bias to religion, ethnic or cultural background.

Applicants must be 10 years of age by September of the year of application.

The procedure is as follows:


Obtain application forms and prospectus from designated sales centres with a non-refundable application fee of N7,000 or Apply Online.

Fill and return forms with all necessary documents which shall include:

  • Medical Certificate/Immunization record
  • Birth Certificate
  • Last School report (Previous term) and transfer certificate where applicable
  • Receipt of payment for admission form

Originals of the above stated documents will be required for sighting

A highly competitive entrance examination is taken on English and Mathematics.
An interview is conducted for successful candidates and their parents.
A letter of offer of admission is given and upon fulfilment of all conditions, admission is confirmed.
The admission is secured within two weeks once it is offered. This is done by paying up the non-refundable acceptance deposit of N50, 000 which is also part of the school fee.
