Holding Qualified Teacher Status within the British education system since 2003, the Most Revd Dr Otis V. Wilks is widely recognized as an "outstanding" and "inspirational" classroom practitioner and leader of learning. As a means by which to serve, Dr Wilks has for several years brought together, seamlessly, his educational leadership with his leadership as a senior clergyman.

Dr Wilks serves as Archbishop and Primate of a communion of churches and ministries represented in Africa, Europe and North America. He is Chancellor of Destiny Bible College in Kumasi, Ghana and Dean of the Grace City Bible College in Ghent, Belgium. Dr Wilks' focused, determined learning-centred leadership has been described by Ofsted (the UK Government's regulatory body for schools in England) as "outstanding" in its capacity to drive improvement.

Dr Wilks has also been part of a team whose work has resulted in a school being lifted out of its Ofsted "inadequate" category. Since this time, he has gone on to serve as inaugural Head of Faculty for Social Sciences in a UK school of presently more than 1300 learners and has served the same school on its Senior Leadership Team.

As a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT), Dr Wilks is part of a group of thinkers and practitioners, who influence educational practice across the UK. He also helps shape the policy from which this practice arises by counselling with key decision-makers at government level. Among his qualifications are included a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Kings College London, specializing in Religious Education at secondary level and a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Buckingham.

Dr Wilks has successfully completed a UK government-backed professional development programme for senior leaders and has been recognized as a Fellow (FCMI) of the Chartered Management Institute, the UK-based organization dedicated to the continuing professional development of high-quality leaders across all sectors. Dr Wilks has also achieved Chartered Manager (CMgr) status, the most prestigious recognition available to managers in the UK.

Dr Wilks is passionate about improving the lives and life chances of young people through education; and he deems it a privilege, in his words, "to return, as a servant, to the continent from which, ancestrally, I was taken as a slave" to do so.
